The Baton Rouge Symphony League serves the interests of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra by fostering music appreciation among children and adults through volunteer service and financial support to BRSO.  Since 1949 the League has furthered this mission by raising over 3 million dollars for BRSO through various events and projects including the widely popular Mad Hatter’s Luncheon and Fashion Show and the Opening Night Gala. Members of the League volunteer their time in support of the Symphony on concert nights, in preparation for special events, and by assisting with many of the BRSO’s educational programs including the Young People’s Discovery Concert Series and the family-oriented Holiday Matinee concert. Other projects the League has been involved with include the Symphony of Trees, a fabulous gala with decorated Christmas trees and the ‘Round About Town Calendar, a calendar printed and sold annually which features all of the symphony, civic, social and noteworthy events taking place in Baton Rouge.

Each year the League presents the graduating class of Les Jeunes Amies de la Symphonie at the elegant Bal de la Symphonie. These young ladies have been involved with the League as they prepare to graduate high school, learning about the Symphony and engaging our community through volunteer service. Les Jeunes Amies serve as camp counselors for Culture Camp, which introduces children in the greater Baton Rouge area to the visual and performing arts, and provide countless hours each year in service of BRSO and the Louisiana Youth Orchestras.

The League’s membership over the past 65 years has included innovative and energetic women whose tireless endeavors to raise awareness of and financial support for BRSO have been instrumental in the Symphony’s success.  We are grateful for their leadership, and recently honored the past presidents of the Baton Rouge Symphony League at a luncheon at the Baton Rouge Country Club. Past presidents, friends, and colleagues met to reminisce about their experiences and memories, united in their unwavering support of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.

Support the BRSO and get involved with other ladies who have a passion for music by becoming a league member!!
