We return to First Baptist Church for a tribute to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, classical music’s favorite prodigy. Born on January 27, 1756, Mozart composed his Symphony No. 20, which we perform tonight, at the age of 16. The justly famous “Jupiter” Symphony, his final effort in the form, premiered in 1788. This concert illuminates Mozart’s compositional evolution, and offers a close look at the height of the Classical era in music.
