Calling all wine connoisseurs, foodies, cheese enthusiasts, and Symphony lovers! Join us for the first Baton Rouge Symphony Virtual Wine and Cheese Tasting Fundraiser hosted by the Baton Rouge Symphony, in collaboration with Martin Wine & Spirits and Bistue Cellars. Carolina Bistue, Partner and Winemaker at Wine Bridge Imports will lead you through a tasting of two Bistue wines - a Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2017 and a Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2017. Tune in as she answers any questions you might have about wine, winemaking, and viticulture. Susan Anderson from Martin Wine Cellars has paired each wine with a delicious cheese – a 12 month Manchego from Spain for the Cabernet and CowGirl Creamery Mt Tam from California for the Chardonnay. Each wine and cheese combo has also been paired with a performance from harpist Melissa Stockstill Wiggins!
Attendees will be sent a private Zoom link for the virtual guided tasting on Thursday July 30th, starting at 6:30pm. Each purchase includes a tasting kit that comprises two bottles of wine signed by Winemaker Carolina Bistue, cheese, and accompaniments for up to 4 people.
Tasting kits may be picked up at Martin Wine Cellar, 1670 Lobdell Ave starting Tuesday, July 28.
Tasting kits are $200 and can be purchased at www.brso.org or by calling 225-383-0500

ABOUT THE WINEMAKER:
Carolina Bistué (33) is a Partner and Winemaker at Wine Bridge Imports. Growing up in the heart of the Mendoza wine region in Argentina, the world’s fifth largest wine-producing country, Carolina developed a strong passion for wine early on. After earning her Masters in Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis, she worked at La Perla del Priorat in D.O.Q. Priorat, Spain and at Paul Hobbs' Viña Cobos in Mendoza, Argentina as part of their winemaking teams. Carolina is now heading Bistue Cellars, where her and her family find unique vineyards throughout California to make beautiful wines. She is convinced that great wines start in the vineyard, and that the care of the vines should focus on allowing them to express their terroir. Other than her passion for food and wine, Carolina also enjoys playing field hockey, soccer, skiing and the outdoors.
Attendees must be 21 years of age. The person picking up wine & cheese tasting kits must be 21 years of age and provide identification.
