ABOUT THIS CONCERT:
Our next concert will dive deep into the iconic fifth symphony by Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky described this music as “being resigned to fate” in the beginning, and then through the course of the symphony, it will emerge into a glorious symphony of victory. This is a very powerful and deeply personal expression from Tchaikovsky. Also on this program, we will feature an overture by French composer Louise Farrenc, a composer who has to overcome the misogyny of her times in order to thrive as a composer and musician. We will also feature a young child prodigy at the violin – Sacha Jorba Wu is an extraordinary young player who will wow you with a concerto by Mendelssohn.
