The Louisiana Youth Orchestras are comprised of several different ensembles according to age and skill level.  Many students begin in our youngest group and continue to progress into the next ensemble as their skills grow.  The LYO provides an environment that promotes high expectations, artistic standards, discipline, and a shared commitment to making great music.  At the same time, we promote a non-competitive environment for students to improve their musicianship, social skills, and team building.

In addition, students will have the opportunity to accompany soloists, attend masterclasses with world class guest artists from the BRSO, attend sectionals and coaching with BRSO musicians, and receive special discounts on BRSO ticket prices.

We are pleased to say that our youth orchestra program is one of the best values in the United States.  Tuition for the entire year is only $200.  Please take a moment to view our ensembles below and direct any inquiries to Music Director David Torns at (225) 400-0332 or
